May Fun!

At the beginning of this week my friend invited me to go strawberry picking. It was a new one for me because I have enjoyed going blueberry and raspberry picking but hadn't gone strawberry picking since being here in Indiana. Its a lovely start for a lovely summer!
I made strawberry pie with some of the strawberries that I picked...Yummy!
Also one of the days this week we grilled some yummy rosemary ranch chicken kabobs with grilled corn on the cob, rice and fresh picked strawberries! It totally reminded me of summer!
Last week we spent some time in Monterey, California for Chase's conference. He was asked to speak at the conference and luckily I was able to go with him! Oddly it was colder there than here so we didn't spend any time at the beach! One day while we were there we went to the aquarium...
Me touching something wet...see my growing belly?
Chase in front of some waves!
Cool stuff...There were lots of neat things to see and we even learned quite a bit while there like the male sea horses are the ones who carry and deliver the baby sea horses- Chase was a bit traumatized by that one especially the movie showing the sea horse delivering the baby ones.
Crazy picture...that is Chase in the center if you couldn't tell and me with the camera in my face!
Another day we visited the Dennis the Menace Park and they had some really cool toys. I made Chase go down a slide with me and then I did some climbing on this cool wall. Its never too late to be a kid right? And really why should they have all the fun?

We also walked along the shore through Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. There were lots of cute shops and stuff.

These sea lions were just lounging out midday.

We did this beautiful drive along the coast and there were so many beautiful scenes to capture.

It was a lovely time with my favorite person!

We got back just in time for some graduation fun and Mother's Day. I was so thankful for Mother's Day this year. It definitely had some special meanings for me. I am so thankful for all the mother's in my life and what a gift it is to be a woman and a mother. There was a neat thought that was shared a couple of Sunday's ago about Eve, the Mother of All. That she was called mother before she ever even had children. All women everywhere whether they have children of their own have such a great opportunity to affect and nurture the lives of those around them and this I believe is what makes us all MOTHERS.
