The last weekend in July, Chase and I headed out to Nauvoo, Illinois and found my family there! They had been out there for about a week and a half helping out with and preparing to be in the Nauvoo Pageant. It was so fun to see them and we even got to convince them to come home with us and spend a few days in good ol' Indiana!
Here is my dad, mom, me, my younger sister and brother Emma & Jonathan before the pageant on Friday (the 30th).
Mommy & Daddy~like my dad's beard?!?
Here is Emma and Jonathan and another pageant friend!
We even got so lucky as to spend a bit of time with my Aunt Diane, cousin Maddy, and Grandma & Grandpa! They traveled out to see my family in the pageant so it was a treat to see them too!
On Saturday, Chase and I did some of own little exploring while my family was occupied with pageant stuff. We rode in this covered wagon with real live oxen. Cool huh? Can you believe Chase is holding the oxen's horn?
A family picture!
I guess Indiana isn't the only state with corn every where!
The last night of the pageant was Saturday the 31st. So the next day after church we headed back to Indiana with my family in tow! Monday we relaxed a bit and later in the afternoon gave the Purdue tour.
Fountains are so fun!
Me and My Mom!
The Unfinished P.
Another fountain of fun!
Being goofy!
Anna! When I first saw her when we arrived in Illinois I couldn't believe my eyes. She had grown up soo much. She is the youngest in the fam~crazy how life happens!
Our Tuesday adventures brought us here to go tubing down Sugar Creek. So fun!
This was taken right after we finished tubing. We didn't get any pictures of us tubing because we didn't want to get the camera wet, silly goose!
Wednesday took us to the good ol' city of Chicago. We started the day with a trip to the temple! What a wonderful start to the day it was!
Then we had a picnic lunch and headed out walking...toward Navy Pier.
Mom just had to get a picture of us by this sign because supposedly I say this all the time!
Navy Pier.
Then we walked to a little beach area. This is Chase's message in response to mine!
Everyone seemed to have a good time dripping wet sand in localized spots.
Oh cute! This was my message! Too bad it is rotated the wrong way...
Playing in the water! It was overcast and drippy all day long but it was actually a blessing because it kept it nice and cool!
Dripping Sand...
Cool Chicago fountain! We had a blast in Chicago. It was so fun to see all the sights and the huge buildings!
Cute Anna!
After the beach we walked along the Magnificent Mile.
Then headed to Giordano's for Chicago style pizza.
Me and my sista's!!
We ended up waiting forever! Can you see Chase sleeping in the background?
FINALLY we got a table and waited some more. Doesn't everyone look so happy?
But we were sure happy when the pizza came! Yummy!
Here are some random pictures while we were walking downtown...This is a fridge by the way!
Then we visited the huge Bean sculpture. It was way cool!
That is my family in the reflection of the bean!
Thursday we stayed home and they got ready to leave on their 20+ hour drive home. Us girls luckily got a little crafting in and...
This is what we made! Cute huh!
It was sooo fun having our family come visit and we really enjoyed every minute! They left Thursday evening and it was sad to see them go but we are thankful they came!
