Adoption Update

So as most of you (my faithful friends and readers) know we began the road for adoption just over a year ago. The time has gone by sometimes quickly and other times painfully slow.

There have been some events along the way that have really tested our faith but have hopefully made us stronger in the process.

We have received many contacts but for some reason or another nothing came of them. Last fall we were contacted by a potential birth mother who "chose" to place with us and made us believe she was actually pregnant and even sent an ultrasound as well as pictures of her and the birth father. We were in contact with her for a few months. Right before Christmas we got a strange call which then resulted in the understanding that it had all been a scam. I am sure there were clues along the way indicating this but we as amateurs did not realize it until we were hurt.

In January we came in contact with another birth mother. This time it seemed golden. She met with the agency and we met with her on several occasions. She was due in July. We were in contact for several months. I took her to some doctor appointments, we had lunch a few times and got to know each other better. She seemed so sure. At the beginning of June we received the devastating news that she had decided to keep the baby. We didn't and still don't have any idea why she changed her mind. Our hearts were really hurt but we continued to pick up where we left off and shut the door to the baby room that was in the process of getting ready.

We know there is a plan for our family. We have felt that many times. We have been so blessed in our lives and can't imagine it without the wonderful friends and family we have and the gospel and especially our Savior who bears our burdens with us.

We feel adoption is still right for our family and there is a special baby meant for our family. I know you all have prayed right along with us and I would ask that you continue to do so. We need your prayers and if you get the chance- spread the word.

We love you all and thank you with all our hearts!

Reading this is heartbreaking, mostly the fact that anyone would toy with another person's emotions and scam them. I know that you and Chase will be fantastic parents and will not hesitate to share your information.

We love you and are praying that the time you have spent "waiting on the Lord" will reach a beautiful conclusion and an even better beginning in the near future. My heart breaks for the abyss-like losses you have suffered during this process. Your faith, already strong as steel, is being made perfect.

We are so sorry to hear about all the trouble you've had! It's heartbreaking to hear how dishonest people can be! It'll all be worth it in the end! When you get to hold your baby in your arms for the first time all of the hurt will melt away.

Thank you for the update! I often wonder how the adoption adventure is going for you. It must truely be an adventure. I am guessing that this experience is a growing one, and I know you know that things will work out. That baby will come, and it will be the baby that is suppose to come to you. Good luck!! :-)
