Easter and Weekend Activities

This last weekend we tiled our kitchen backsplash! We still have some more work on it to do and eventually I will get some finished pictures up. Alvin enjoyed being such a "help"!

We were both very much amateurs when it came to this project as we have never tiled anything before. It was fun to learn together what works and what may not work so well.

These are before pictures...we definitely needed to do something!

This was part of prepping the wall also...taking down the old backsplash which was the original countertop.

Alvin loved being in the sink and right next to daddy! You can kind of see what we did. We used this new tile backing stuff you use instead of cement and it sticks right onto your wall and then you stick the tiles to it. It is pretty sticky stuff. We found it doesn't work as well with smaller tile pieces but we worked around it.

Alvin "helping" daddy!

Chase insisted I should start grouting it because I had read about it and "knew" so much! ha ha! So here I am at work! We actually both participated in this since it helps to have someone wipe on the grout and someone to wipe it off. Chase ended up doing most all the project with some help from me and some from his dad because I wasn't feeling so hot. He did a great job!

On Saturday in between grouting we went down to Pocatello to celebrate Easter with family. We did an Easter egg hunt and the kids colored eggs and we also went to a Walk With Christ that went through Christ's life especially the latter part. It was neat to go to and added to the Easter spirit!

The kids all revved up and excited to search out the eggs!

High reaches!

So cool!!

Here are some attempted Easter shots I took Sunday morning before church. The lighting wasn't too good and Alvin wasn't too excited about pictures. Oh well! Did I ever tell you it is not easy taking pictures of an 18 month old??

He was sure looking dapper though!
