First Day in Paris- AND 5th Year Anniversary!

We arrived into Paris a little after 9am. Once we got off the train we headed to a nearby Metro to store our luggage until we could check into our place.
After putting our luggage away we took out the trusty guidebook of Rick Steves and started a walking tour of the Historic Core of Paris. This is me with the trusty guidebook and the St. Chapelle Cathedral in the background (I believe.)
Chase and the Notre Dame Cathedral
Views outside and inside the cathedral.

An outside view- pretty amazing really both inside and outside! The architecture is awesome and the design inside is really neat.
While we were out walking we noticed a bridge full of locks. We soon found out that there is a tradition in Paris for couples to put a lock on the bridge and throw away the key into the river as a symbol that their love will never fail. So cute!

This was inside the concierge which was used as a prison of thousands. Marie Antoinette was prisoned here and lived here before her execution. They have a memorial commemorating her near where her cell was located.
Inside the St. Chapelle Cathedral. It was filled with stain glass windows that depicted the stories from the beginning of the Bible to the end. It was really quite amazing.
Climbing the many many stairs up the tower of Notre Dame Cathedral.
Views from the top.
The huge bell tower at the top of the church. This picture doesn't give it justice but the bell was really quite huge.
Some more views from the top.

Later that evening we enjoyed a beautiful night boat tour on the Seine River. It was so lovely especially with my sweetie!
Some lovely night views of Paris.

The boat tour was definitely a highlight- we loved it! Paris is so lovely at night and the water and colors were just beautiful.
I can't believe we have been married for 5 years! The time just flies. I sure do love this guy and feel so blessed. He is the perfect husband! I look forward to many more years of adventures together!

Joni, your trip was so amazing!! You have to do a post on how you planned on going where you went and all the details. Sam and I would love to do this for our 10 year. Great pics! I loved everyone of them!
