Sorry there are so many breaks between posts! Also I think I should mention we are home now but I thought I would share some of our favorites from each day! Also the main reason we were in Europe was for a conference Chase attended for research in Germany! We thought since we were already going to be over there we might as well see more of Europe! It was a great excuse to travel more and we were lucky he had a conference there because otherwise we probably wouldn't have made the trip! Hope you enjoy the pictures and someday I will get the trip all posted! Ha ha!

Neat door handle...

Neat street view.

Eating Italian Gelato in San Marco's famous square! The St. Mark's Basilica is in the background.

Just a neat view down one of the canal ways.

Gondolier's at work

St. Mark's Basilica

Correr Museum- lots of famous works of art from Venice.

Chase in front of a Ferrari store! He is holding my purse isn't he so nice. =)

Standing in St. Mark's Plaza (or Square)- this picture doesn't quite depict it but there were tons of people here! There are definitely two sides to Venice- the tourist side (not as cool) and the residential side (still a bit touristy but cooler!) We loved staying in a more residential part of town and just getting lost in the streets. The museums and churches were also cool but very touristy.

Eating amazing vanilla gelato! Definitely our favorite!

Visiting the Doge's Palace- where the ruling seat of Venice lived. Pretty amazing!

Posing in one of the outside corridors of the Doge's Palace.

Some other pictures...

The inside was pretty ornate- especially the hallways leading upstairs.

Some island views apart from Venice.

The prisons connected to the Doge's Palace- pretty scary if you ask me!

The famous Bridge of Sighs. It is said the prisoners would walk from the Doge's Palace through the Bridge of Sighs before meeting their doomed fate in the prisons. Too bad they were renovating on all sides of the bridge.

In front of St. Mark's Basilica. Very old beautiful building that claims to have the bones of Mark (one of the original four apostles).

Hotel Danielle (Sp?) from the movie The Tourist.

Just along the pier part. Lots of people and vendors.

The Castello neighborhood- castle walls that now surround an army base in Venice. Also in the movie The Tourist! The neighborhood got built around these castle walls. Pretty interesting!

Lots of pigeons everywhere!

Me holding a rose some guy forced us to buy in St. Mark's Square! Quite the tourist trap- ha ha! It was a very pretty rose though =)
Later this same day we went to a concert which included Vivaldi and Opera. It was quite amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed it! It was definitely a highlight as well as our visit to the Doge's Palace. St. Mark's Basilica was also very neat!
Thats all for this day!
