First Day In Germany

After a very long and delayed flight we finally arrived in Germany! After waiting for awhile to rent a car from the airport we then headed to Dachau Concentration Camp.

The entrance gate into the camp.

The building where they checked people in and gave them their clothing and such. Also included are hanging poles that they used as a form of torture and mistreatment.
The barb wire fence and ditch.
Inside the barracks- the bunks.
Crematorium.
This was a very sad place. It was very educational and opened our eyes to much of what went on in these camps but we went away feeling very sad. It is so important to love one another and to resist prejudice against others.
Onto a happier subject...here is one of the beautiful sights we saw from our rental car on the way to our hotel in Rosenheim, Germany. Germany is soo beautiful with the green rolling hills, trees and the Alps in the background! Love it!
View from our hotel window!
In the hotel room. Very nice and pleasant room.
The first day was nice and we were exhausted from all the traveling but still had energy to walk around a bit!
Welcome to Germany!

That must have been such a stark contrast, the lingering darkness in the camp against the sunlit sky and the beautiful greenery. Those hallowed walls and gates must still cry out in agony, condemning the evil acts committed therein while all of nature bears witness of God's unfailing, eternal love which overcomes and vanquishes bigotry and even the apparently inexorable consequences of genocide. Thank you for sharing all these pictures and thoughts, Joni.
