Thursday morning we went to Herrenchiemsee which is an island in lake Chiemsee. On that island, King Ludwig II built a palace modeled exactly after Versailles in Paris. The one difference is that Ludwig didn't have enough money to finish it. So some rooms are extremely elaborate, complete with gold plated -- everything, and other rooms at bare brick and mortar. Very interesting and beautiful!

Here is the ferry boat we took to get to the Island.

Here is Chase in front of the Palace.

Here is a closer picture of the palace.

Me in front of a fountain outside the palace. Sadly no pictures were aloud in the palace so we can't show you all how awesome it was!

Some cool trees on the island.

A historic monastery on the island.
Later in the day we went to a nearby city called Wasserburg (pronounced Vawserburg!). It is a very old city and had very neat buildings and we had an awesome dinner there! It was funny because like I mentioned earlier we don't speak German and so it is hard to know what is on the menu but a very kind guy who saw us come into the restaurant asked if we would like help interpreting the menu. It was a great help!

Sounds like another fun day! I'd love to tour that palace, not to mention Versailles.
